3 mths post-op and still hurting

I had an abdominal hysterectomy along with a bladder tack
on 12/29/06. My adbomen is still super swollen and I am
still experiencing bloating and a nagging pain. My knees and
joints also hurt. I am also having to fight to be paid for my
last 7 days of disability because I exceeded the MDA guidelines. Does anyone else still suffer from these side
effects? I also feel discriminated against as a woman who
has to be paid for time missed from work due to MDA
guidelines. It says the normal recovery time is 6 to 8
weeks. That may be for a 30 year old but not a 52 year old.

So sorry to hear of your pain and difficulties. I am nearly 4 months post-op and still experience pain and a swollen belly, especially at the end of the day. From the posts I've read, we are not alone and need to give our bodies more time for healing, at least a year or more in some cases. Patience is key. I wish you the best rhbeee - Hugs to you,
