4 Weeks Post-Op Abdomen Still Touch Sensitive

Hi all,

I'm a little over 4 weeks post-op and my abdomen, from just below the belly button to just below the incision, is still very sensitive to touch. No other pain to speak of and no fever, just this sensitivity. It is almost the same sensation one would get with a bad bruise.

Is this normal this late in the recovery process? Anyone else still having touch sensitivity in the lower abdomen?

I am eight weeks post-op and my tummy is still numb.
At four weeks post-op it was driving me crazy. That tingley sensitive feeling. ANYTHING that touched it was just annoying.

Four weeks is actually still early days in your recovery. That strange sensitivity you're describing is the result of many nerve endings being damaged during surgery. I was told they can take up to a year to repair themselves, if at all.

I'm still "sensitive" in my lower abdomen after 2+ years, but it's nothing compared with 4 weeks post-op though! Everything with this surgery takes time and the key is to be patient.

I'm glad your recovery is going well ~ take care!
