Pre-Op Appointment tomorrow - What to Ask?

I'm having my pre-op appointment tomorrow. I am trying to think of questions to ask my doctor, but I am sure I will forget to ask something. Can anyone give me some good ones to ask about important issues that may come up afterward or about the surgery itself? Thanks.

I believe that this is a list somewhere on the site of good pre-op questions. But you may want to go over your post op restrictions with your doctor in advance, so that you can get your house in order prior to returning home and arrange all the help you may need from friends and family during your recovery. For instance, some doctors will restrict you from using steps for a week.

I would also suggest talking about what type of pain management the doctor will prescribe after the surgery. The morphine PCA was wonderful for me for the first 24 hours then I was placed on percocet.

You can find the list decembersnow refers to here. I printed out the list before my pre-op appointment with the doctor and found it to be very helpful.

I also used that list provided and it was of great help to me. If there is something you forget to ask at your appointment but remember later, don't feel as if you're bothering your doctor if you call her before surgery to have your question(s) answered. =)
