Should I have had more done at pre-op?

Hi ladies,

When I had my pre-op a week ago, all I had done was one blood test and she listened to my lungs and took my blood pressure.

Is that all there is too it, or should there have been more to it?

Maybe I'm just being paranoid, or maybe she doesn't see anything of concern for the surgery?

Can anyone tell me if this is all they had done? I would appreciate it so much !

Pre-op

No need to worry. If you're talking about your pre-op at the castle, that's all I had done too. They went over all my paperwork, medicines, took my blood, listened to my lungs and took my blood pressure. My surgery was Oct 21st. Very little pain, just sore and get tired quickly. It wasn't as bad as I made it out in my mind to be. You'll do fine!

I had mine on Monday and thats about all I had too. Your lungs probably sounded clear, and your bloodwork tells a big part of the picture.

Good luck with your surgery.

Should I have had more done at pre-op?

I had blood work done, they asked me LOTS of questions, and I talked with the anthesiologist. The nurse went ahead and put the wristband on that had all my information like Dr.'s name, account number. All I had to do the morning of my surgery was show up. I had a D&C in May, and they pretty much did the same then, too.

My hospital required the following be done at my pre-op:
Lots of medical history questions, including any anesthesia concerns.
Blood work.
Chest X-Ray (which I thought all hospitals require prior to any surgery).
EKG
