My surgery is scheduled ~ Not sure if its the right area

For Nov 11'th , will be a LAVH, and my obgyn said if that's not possible , she might switch to using my CS scar.

Is that normal?

Yes, it is normal. My DR told me the same thing. Sometimes to get all of the scar tissue or endo the DR has to switch.

Hawkeye, I am having surgery tomorrow am and still am not sure which way he will go. Guess I'll find out when I wake up. Mine told me the same thing, that if you have a lot of scar tissue (like I have from 3 sections) the chances are pretty good that it will end up TAH.

Thank you!!! I am sooo nervous I have done ABSOLUTELY nothing at work today. Just hope to get some sleep tonight, especially since I had expected to be home tomorrow night and not in the hospital.

My doc said the same thing - I had 2 c-sections and she didn't know if LAVH would work..it did and I'M THRILLED! Didn't know until I woke up tho - what a nice suprise!

Oh, this is reassuring to read, I really am hoping it will be a LAVH too with no "surprises".

anyone that is having one of the less invasive surgeries has to sign consent that it may be converted. most likely it wont be, i wouldnt worry about it too much. i had 2 csections and a few other abdomninal surgeries and i had no problem at all having the lsh. good luck
