Week 3 "blah's"?
Just wondering if anyone else is feeling/or did feel, kind of low just over the 3 week mark...
Nothing in particular, but I feel bad when I hear hubby's alarm go off at 5 a.m. and he has to go to work. I feel "lazy" still being in bed; in 23 yrs, I've always been the first one up, showered, ready to go...I wonder if he's thinking I'm lazy, too. (I know better, but still, I think it...)
I feel guilty about my job; wondering if they are working short-handed or if they covered me on any particular day...
Re-evaluating everything in my life; never had all this "time" to think about things and now I do since my hysterectomy coinsided with my youngest leaving for college, too...Hysterectomy + Empty Nester = Lonely, Confused & Restless
Then just the normal feelings of being tired, emotional, forgetful, and just plain old "not myself" is unnerving to me. I feel guilty when my husband comes home from work tired and by 6 pm I am the one on the couch falling asleep...
Am I the only one feeling lazy and unproductive? I hate this feeling. I know I had major surgery and it was a complicated one; but when the outside looks good (three incisions look great), it's hard to think about the inside. Some days I just cannot see that light at the end of the tunnel.

Re: Week 3 "blah's"?
I am at 6 weeks today. I feel bad, too, that I still need extra sleep and that I haven't gone back to work. I am still dealing with some complications, so I still hurt, although it is better. The blahs still come and go and I still have to follow an active day with an inactive day. I think we get this way because we have been home, alone, a lot. There are days I won't want to move because of aches, but as long as we move forward, those will get better. I try to do little things now like fold laundry and dust. You are still early in recovery, so be careful. Even if it is a couch project like a craft or photo album, it does help to feel accomplished. We will have blah days, but it will get better.

Re: Week 3 "blah's"?
Week three was tough for me, both physically and mentally. I didn't feel very good and spent a lot of time watching tv and knitting.
School started this week so I have had to get back in the swing of things whether I want to or not.

Re: Week 3 "blah's"?
I feel the same, and I'm only on week two...yikes it's going to be a long winter. Tried to do too much walking week 1 with a catheter and spent last weekend in agony. So I'm being good this week. I allow myself to do simple things, like fixing myself (cold) breakfast, using my Gopher stick to sort laundry, etc. But not much. Just enough to make me feel somewhat useful. I think I had a "plan" of a healing schedule that is much slower than anticipated. But every day I feel closer to whole again. Hang in there and keep remembering this is only temporary
