Re: Flying

Hi, I did a day trip at 9 weeks. It was not several hours consecutively, but I had 4 shorter flights over the course of about 14 or 15 hours.

It's exhausting, but you should be able to handle it. Talk to you doctor about any concerns for clots. My guess is that they will suggest you move as frequently as possible to keep the blood flowing.

Being in a pressurized aircraft can impact the wound area with a little stress obviously due to the pressure. I once flew the day after dental surgery and that wasn't fun. I ended up being more sore than I would have been had I not flown.

But at 9 weeks, you should be in pretty decent shape. Beware of lifting bags into an overhead bin or carrying other heavy items.

Have fun! I was just in Vegas a couple weeks ago. It's always a fun place to visit.

Re: Flying

Hi I flew an 11.5 hour flight after 8 weeks for TAH. My gynea said to move as much as possible and wear stockings I was given in hospital. He wanted me to get an injection from GP to do myself, the same as the one they give you in hospital after operations. I didn't get it and just took a chance. It all went fine anyway with no problems!
