Adhesions post hysterectomy

Hi, I'm 34..I had a laproscopic vaginal hysterectomy 5 months ago I have a history of endometriosis and adenomyosis and pelvic adhesions, I kept 1 ovary. Soon after my hyst I had familiar pelvic pain return, I nagged my consultant who initially said it was my body healing but I kept going back as the pain was increasing. Anyway, earlier this week I had a another laporoscopy and my consultant found adhesions on my left side, on the back of my vagina & the top where my cervix had been removed. Consultant removed these adhesions he said there was no sign of any further endo. My belly feels sore it's only been days since the laparoscope but I am sure I am again feeling the old familiar pain creeping back. I'm at the end of my tether, tired & so very emotional. I have now had a total of 11 laproscopic surgeries over 13 years. Is this really never ending? Surely there most be something to prevent adhesions and related pain? Please if anyone has had similar experience can you share anything that has provided any relief..I am prepared to try anything! Many thanks, Emma

Re: Adhesions post hysterectomy

Hi Emma, I am new to this site and also at the end of my rope. My hysterectomy was in April and I am still in so much pain. Docs have no answers for me and I have really been trying to figure out how to get back to land of the living! I had to quit my job of 13 yrs, cannot wear a bra, being in a car is the worst! Honestly, at this point I am struggling to get my youngest to school in the mornings. One day while "nosing" around on another support site there was a suggestion to look at a website called clear passage. I did and have booked my time with them. I start next Monday on November 10 and it cannot get here soon enough! I am so sorry to hear of all your pain and can relate in so many ways. My surgery was a complete and total hysterectomy-nothing left behind. It was the da vinci lap/vag method. My surgery did reveal endo and adhesions as well. I never had a clue i had those issues. What I experience now is a constant tugging/pushing/pulling pain. I tell ya, it feels like something is trying to get out of me through my side. I can rarely eat solid food as it makes the pain quite a bit worse. I have been vigorously researching adhesions and I believe it is a vicious cycle as they can only be removed surgically and surgery causes them! This other treatment I'm going to just makes sense to me. I pray it is my solution, because my quality of life has been hugely impacted! I refuse to believe this how I'm supposed to be! I know it's soooo hard sometimes, but I must keep searching for the answers and I pray you will too.

Re: Adhesions post hysterectomy

I too believe I am suffering with adhesions. I have tugging pulling pains as well as cramps. But i have no fallopian tubes to create cramps. Diarreah like crazy. These pains are horrible and im scared my doc may expect me to live with it. I hope you both feel better!!
