2 weeks post hysterectomy: So flipping cold!

This just started on day 13.... For 2 days now, I can't get warm. Horrible chills, shivering etc. I'm guessing hormones are to blame but this is crazy! It was 50 outside and sunny today. I sooooo badly wanted to go walking outside and got a case of the shivers and spent the rest of the afternoon under 3 blankets with my heat pad trying to get warm! I had a few hot flashes after surgery and expected that but I've never heard of this. I did take my temp but no fever.

Feeling cold like this is a classic sign of a slow thyroid, which is apparently quite common following a hysterectomy. I would recommend asking your doctor to have that checked, so that it can be appropriately treated. Best wishes for your continued recovery!
