Fever rash... 1 week post op

So for the last few days I've been dealing with a rash. It's on my legs, torso (front and back), arms, and seems to be spreading. The skin has small bumps on it. It appears to be a little swollen in areas. It is itchy and burny and at this point very uncomfortable. I have also been running a low grade fever (99-100). I called my obgyn and her office called me back and said, " the doctor isn't sure what it could be, and if she looked at it she prolly wouldn't know"... Then the receptionist told me that the doctor would like me to take benidryl. So I have (I also used cortizone in spots that were the itchiest, and take probiotics regularly), and I am still suffering. What is going on with my skin? And should I bypass my obgyn and go see my primary? Or will this just go away?

Are you on any medicine? Sounds like you could have an allergic reaction to that. I would go to your primary physician if your OB said they really didn't know, and that was before seeing the rash. Good luck and hope it goes away quickly!

I had the same thing. Found out it was the Liquid Morphine they were giving me. Itching was driving me mad. Changed to Tramadol and went away, although the rash and blisters took a few days. Take care

I had same issue and it was the vicodin I had to take a benadryl the first few days and it cleared up.
