I got an infection...could just cry

When I went to get into bed last night I got a sharp belly pain. I thought "Ohhh no....my cyst twisted or burst".

When I felt my stomach, it was red with a hard lump. I was afraid my ovarian cyst got so big that it was busting out.

Off to the drs today and here I have a sebataeous cyst that is infected. How random is that? Has nothing at all to do with my ovarian cyst.

He drained it and took a culture to make sure nothing funky is going on.

Since it was infected, I am on antibotics and I go back Monday to see how it is healing and if surgery on the 15th is still an option.

I am so frustrated I could just cry. The anxiety of the pending surgery was enough....I didn't need an added complication.

Anyone on antibotics? Is this too close to surgery time for it to happen or will they postpone? Thoughts?

Thanks!

Re: I got an infection...could just cry

As long as the antibiotics are helping it, he probably will be able to do it. I had to have surgery and went for pre-op years ago only to discover I was running a fever. In that case we did postpone for one week due to the antibiotics only being given for one dose at original scheduled time. But, if it is working, he probably will be ok. Sending best wishes that on Monday it is healing and the surgery can still go on.

Re: I got an infection...could just cry

Thanks for your reply.

Was feeling overwhelmed at my pending surgery (and all to do prior) and then I got this bonus.

Stomach/cyst area is not nearly as sore today so I hopefully it will heal quickly and this will be a non-issue.

(((((((((( Hope you're feeling better soon ))))))))))
Its a rollercoaster of emotions as it is and you certainly didn't need the added stress. Hope that it resolves completely and that your surgery goes ahead as scheduled. IMHO, two weeks should be plenty of time for that to happen Carnae.
