Taking care of self...
Hello sisters, I finally decided to take care of self while waiting until September for my TAH. I have had 2 C-sections, tubal ligation, LEEP procedure, and a horrible fistula last year that required a cutting seton. Last year I was on Vicodin for 6 months, took another 1 1/2 months to get off of. Every since then, I have not wanted anything to do with pain meds. This week has been very painful, and I am cycling every 2 weeks, with a lot of clotting. Finally today I called my doctor, went in and got some help with some pain meds. I really thought I would be able to tough it out until September...then it hit me, why suffer!? Feeling better tonight and so much more comfortable. I guess I just wanted to check in with you all. Everything I have read has helped me more than I can express. No more making myself suffer!!

Re: Taking care self...
Your body can only handle so much. No need to be a pain martyr. And dealing with chronic pain sucks your soul away day by day. After a decade of chronic pain, I've learned when to suck it up and when to break out the big guns. Glad you found some relief.

Good for you, you're absolutely right, there's no reason to suffer like that, not when we have options that can help. Glad you're feeling better!

Re: Taking care self...
Taking pain meds while you are waiting for surgery is a good idea. You need to still be a functional woman, and being in so much continuous non-stop pain is no way to live.
