Congratulations on your hyst?????

I am 6 weeks post op today and I guess I dont see what was all that wrong with it. I looked at my hysterectomy, although nerve wracking waiting for the surgery itself as the start of my new life. I was excited, I was tired of all the problems and the pain and the fear of living my life in my house for days on end because I didnt want accidents outside my house. I was becoming a shut in, I could never wear the clothes I wanted to, and I had gone through so much already and one failed surgery I knew this was definately the answer. So I was excited. I had many people congratulate me on my upcoming and many say it after. Most of them were either women impending or living life with problems or already had a hyst themselves and knew the joys of what it was like to be free of the worries, pain and bleeding.

I kept thinking I was going to be a new improved and better me! I look forward to going and buying new undies and WHITE pants for summer!!! woohooo! lol.

I think it was meant with good intentions and not meant to hurt feelings. So take it that way.

Personally I think the worst ones are the people who have a horror story, or think you should be fine by 1 week post op. Or the people who have never had a problem period in their life tell me how lucky I am to be getting the surgery. Those make me mad. But the women who have gone through all that I have, people who understand what its taken to get to this point. To them I say congrats on your surgery. It means a new life, a better life and a better you!
