compounding pharmasists

What is the difference between a regular pharmasist and a compounding pharmasist? Some things I've read seem to suggest a compounding pharmasist can get the hrt's more accurate for each individual. Is it hard to find one?

When we were going through infertility treatments, I had to find a compounding pharmacist. Found him next door to the hospital. Call a couple of places, and just ask. Since then, I've found that the smaller, independently owned pharmacies tend to compound more often than the big chains.

a compounding one can make up creams and lotions etc.. They have the knowledge to actually make something not just dispense it.

Hey, there is a website that lists pharmacists that do compounding, you can do a search for one in your local area...it was a thread here once -maybe someone that knows how can list the link?? I'll try to find it in the meantime. My new pcp requests blood tests to have a compounding pharmacist get me and my mom the correct herbal remedies instead of synthetic hormones.
