Re: LAVH scheduled, age 29

Hi Sanmil1029... I'm not post op yet but I'm 30 & scheduled on 6/3. Since I haven't gone through it yet I don't have any words of wisdom but just wanted to say hi & tell you I understand how anxious you are.

Re: LAVH scheduled, age 29

I am assuming there is a reason for the hyst seeing as you are only 29. I was 28 at the time of mine and what made it easier for me was knowing the pain would finally be gone. I couldn't live my life. I couldn't be a good mom because I was on script narcotics just to make it through the day. I couldn't have sex because of the pain. We were blessed with a son and that is the only one we wanted, so when the dr said we could, I jumped on it. It is a big undertaking, but the pain of the hyst would go away. The endo pain did not. Not saying there weren't times of anxiety prior to surgery, but I could not handle the pain anymore. Now I am a better mom and wife. I just had to hold out hope it would work. Keep the hope! We're here with you!

Yes!!! Finding this website saved my sanity! I was so lost. Everyone I had spoken to about a hyster was MUCH older than I was. I was 30 at the time. I had so many fears. I found this site and would stay on for hours at a time just reading.

I am 6 months post op now and doing great! I would encourage you to read the stories from the gals that had the same type of procedures. Mine is also in there.

Re: LAVH scheduled, age 29

Hi sanmil1029

I'm four months post-op, and I still remember the anxiety I felt before my surgery. I have to say that this website was one of the biggest helps in easing my anxiety. Every time I posted a question or read about someone else's concerns, I felt like I wasn't alone. Other people really did understand what I was going through. It was nice to feel normal at a time when everyone else in my life thought I was obsessing over my surgery.

I'm glad you found us. We'll be here for you!

Re: LAVH scheduled, age 29

Welcome to all you ladies in waiting! This site is priceless and is helping a lot. Frankly despite really looking for forward to being painfree, I was pretty anxious. Especially the day before and day of surgery. But while waiting & prepping in the hospital, I knew I didn't want my 2 young girls to be upset by seeing me anxious. That helped. But the biggest help was knowing that once I felt that little sting of anesthesia in the IV...lights OUT baby ! Yeah, that's kind of weird but knowing I'd go out in a nanosecond kept my nerves manageable. That's me anyway...I'm a freak
