burn injury on labia during hysterectomy

So as dr was finishing up my surgery, the resident who was assisting aparently burned my labia with, I'm assuming, the cauterizer tool. Today while showering, (6 days post op) I found the open sore it left after the blister popped. Needless to say, it was less than pleasant
Has anyone heard of this happening? I knew of the risk of burns to the ureters, but I've never heard of this. I think it will heal up fine, but fir now. .. it's quite uncomfortable!

I would definitely call your Dr for advice.

Re: burn injury on labia during hysterectomy

My Dr prescribed a lidocaine cream and basically told me it was no big deal, and acted like I was being a big baby.
I think it's healing fine, but I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this or heard of it.
