What is the difference in the Davinci surgery?

Trying to find out the difference between the robotic lap hysterectomy & robotic lap vaginal hysterectomy? I am confused. My Dr originally only discussed just robotic, (using DaVinci) and I thought that was done thru the abdomen, & now today at my pre-op, the PA read on my paperwork that this will still be daVinci, but vaginally???? I have a call into the Dr, but have not yet heard back....I have never had children & I have an aborting myoma pressing on my cervix. I couldn't even have an internal completed with a pap or a sono hystogram due to the distortion.

It means that the robot goes in through small incisions on your lower abdomen and after the uterus is cut off the rest of your body, it's taken out through your vagina.

If you are not keeping your cervix than the uterus is removed vaginally. In both instances there are incisions in your abdomen for the instruments and cameras.
