Too good to be true?

Hi all! New here, had LAVH-BSO yesterday and got home before lunch today. I am doing really well and that is making me kind of nervous...like am I going to crash over the coming week because I've done so well so far? My surgery lasted maybe 1 1/2 hours and the dr said I was a "trooper". The nurses said I did better than most in my recovery. I was able to walk yesterday with no problems, no weakness, passed gas ok, passed fluids thru the catheter really, really, really well, and according to the nurses I asked very little for pain meds. I thought I was being a big baby by asking for them every 4-5 hours. I have cramping in my abdomen and lower back, feels a lot like labor pains or bad menstrual cramps, but that's the only pain.
Today I was able to walk around the entire hospital wing and could have kept going except I forced myself to not go any further. But when I was discharged and it was taking a long time for a wheelchair transport, I just went to the nurses station and told them I was walking out. My boyfriend was with me and I walked to the car with no problems. At home I have not taken any naps, have heated up a can of ravioli for lunch, been walking all around the house and to the mailbox just like before. The abdominal support band and hot/cold pads I ordered from here have been a help and I have taken some Percoset for the cramping but really don't feel bad at all. NO problems peeing and had a BM as soon as I got home. If I didn't know any better, I'd swear I could return to work tomorrow! I am not doing any housework or lifting and am making myself sit and relax by playing on the computer and watching a little tv. I had read about swelly belly and got some larger pants to wear home...they fell off of me. No swelling!
I was definitely not in shape before surgery and not terribly active, could stand to lose 40 lbs and was well into perimenopause. I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo and was having hot flashes and night sweats and bled for the past month. Had fibroids, a weirdly tilted cervix, and an ovarian cyst that sent me to the hospital because my dr was positive it was appendicitis, until the scan showed it wasn't.
So by feeling this good and doing so well, does this mean it's going to not go well in the coming weeks? Or am I just super lucky? Feeling really, really blessed right now!

Re: Too good to be true?

It's great to hear you're feeling so well!

My advice is to remember to take it easy for the first few weeks. It can be easy to forget you're healing and accidentally do too much. You'll usually feel it a few hours later or the next day.

I had very little pain, but I was slow and weak for a while. I'm convinced that because I didn't push myself, I had a nice, smooth recovery.
