Why wasn't I too about magnesium cottage or bowel prep at all until 30 minutes before I was to start? And why is it so disgusting. I'm sk nauseated from drinking it and having nothing else to eat. Eeeeeeww. Now I got horrible yummy cramping without much else happening. (3hours) in

Re: bowel prep s***s

I had to use miralax and only 32 oz of propel and I had started running (literally) before I was half done! So glad that I didn't have to drink the gallon of stuff! Just remember...this too shall pass! . Good luck in the rest of your prep and in your surgery tomorrow!

Re: bowel prep s***s

I second that! I've gone so much I can hardly sit! I've gotten nauseated from all the fluid at points to. I know it's cliche but walk around a bit and relax! If your stressed it will be harder to go!

I'm in your shoes ... will be leaving for the castle at 5:30 am!

Prayers for smooth surgery & recovery!

Don't get caught up on the timing... I was about 4 hours in until anything happened.

Things started happening about 4 1/2 hours after I started. My cocktail was different then yours though.

Re: bowel prep s***s

If you were to do a bowel prep, it should have been with your instructions. Did they just call you?

Drink water - that should help. Everyone is different, and it took mine a while before it started working. In fact, mine was still going in the early AM. I thought I did it wrong, but when I asked my my pre-op nurse she said that sometimes that happens and I did just fine.

Good luck with your surgery, I am sure all will go well. We will be waiting for you on the other side.

Re: bowel prep s***s

I had to drink 2 bottles of magnesium citrate and give myself 2 enemas, last one shortly before leaving to hospital around 4AM. Check-in was 5AM and they didn't do surgery 'til almost noon. Yuk. My bum was so sore. For me, the bowel cleanse was far worse than actual surgery. You'll be happier tomorrow when it's all over! , sisters!
