surgery tomorrow and I'm exhausted

Hi,

I"m going to the castle tomorrow. I feel calm during the day, but at night I barely sleep. It's been 3 days of insomnia and I feel like a wreck! I wanted to go into surgery feeling rested and strong, but I feel the opposite. At least I can rest today, but I'm frustrated. I felt so prepared for this in other ways. Anyone else had trouble sleeping?

Oh honey

Don't worry. I was such a wreck between the bowel prep
and instense cleaning and organizing house I barely slept pre op
I stayed up most of the nite the nite before and I went
shopping the morning of. I did not have to be at the hospital till noon. So I ran out at 9 am to get a new
dish drain of all things.
With all that crazy ness I was fine for surgery...

Hugs and prayers for a speedy recovery

You will be ok. You sound very prepared otherwise. So, just relax as much as possible today and you'll have plenty of time to rest afterwards. Good luck with your surgery! Keep us posted on the other side!

Boy, do you sound normal to me. I didn't have trouble getting to sleep pre op, I had trouble staying asleep. After a few days, you do get pretty tired
Surprisingly though, I was very calm the morning of my surgery. Maybe it was because the wait was finally over. I'll pray that happens for you too.

Best wishes, I hope that you can get some rest tonight.

Jahee
I am @ 2 weeks post op, I had 3 days to get prepared for surgery. I tired myself out cleaning, pre-cooking, finishing every piece of laundry and writing out instructions for Hubby. The nite before, I took a long and HOT bath, shaved, trimmed nails (toes- TMI) because you wont be doing pedicures any time soon. I also did this because you are not allowed to eat after midnite. I finished packing my hospital bag. Make sure you pack chap stick and gum. If you don't sleep at all don't worry, you'll just sleep even better after the surgery at the hospital. RELAX, Pray, you'll be fine.

Hang in there, you sound really prepared and it's probably just your mind racing to make sure that you got everything done. I was that way last night. Woke up at 1AM and couldn't get back to sleep thinking about all the stuff I didn't do. Don't worry! After surgery you can sleep to your hearts content.

Best Wishes and Warm Fuzzies coming your way!!

Yep, my minds been racing. The hardest part was getting my classroom ready for a sub for 4-6 weeks. This morning I wrote out a to do list, so I hopefully won't wake up in the middle of the night thinking of things I have to do. I'm getting a massage before my bowel prep today, so hopefully that will help.
