Why am I having pregnancy dreams?!?

Lately I have been having so many dreams where I am pregnant.

I have 4 kids and had my tubes tied after my last pregnancy and have regretted the tubal ever since. But I have not had a pregnancy dream since I was pregnant the last time. Is this because it will REALLY be final? I know I can't get pregnant anyway, but I guess I thought if I wanted it bad enough that I could try to get the tubal reversed...which I don't even think I would do anyway.

In my dreams I am so happy that I am pregnant and when I wake up, I am really dissapointed that it's just a dream.

I hope you guys don't think I'm crazy

Maybe it's that the part of me that my babies started out in will be gone. It is sad to think of for me.

Has anyone else had the same kind of dreams before having a hysterectomy? Or am I just crazy? Please don't tell me I'm crazy.

Hi pasdechat, you are NOT crazy! I think all of us have mixed feelings about the surgery. Even though it's the best thing for us or we wouldn't decide to do it, there have to be some feelings about the fact that it's FINAL. The choice to have more kids or not is totally taken away from us. I know that for myself I didn't want anymore anyway (I'm 45 and have 2 of my own plus BF has 2 grown kids and a grandkid) but still I had some sad twinges prior to the surgery. But they were just twinges. Your dreams are probably just your unconscious way of expressing those feelings that you don't want to express when you're awake because you know you're doing the right thing and don't want to undermine your own decision. Please, feel free to talk about those feelings here, it will help other sisters who see it too! Good luck with your surgery, and

I am childless by choice and was absolutely delighted to have had a hysterectomy. Shortly before the surgery I had a dream that I had become pregnant and was discussing with my mom which hospital to go to for delivery. Once that decision was made (turned out to be the other hospital and not my castle), I said to my mom that I thought I should give the baby up for adoption. Then thank goodness I woke up. I think it is pretty common to have strange dreams before surgery. Our subconscious minds are busy at work. No you are not crazy.

I, too, keep having pregnancy dreams. DH had a vasectomy almost 3 yrs ago so my chances of another child with him are nil. Eventhough I am only 31 (soon to be 32) I have accepted that my baby days were over a long time ago. I agree it must be the subconscious mind. Odd how it works.
