HELP!!! 2 Weeks to go

I feel like I'm going crazy. I have been so touchy and angry for the last week. Tonight the volcano exploded, my poor husband. No one seems to know how I feel. I get, "It's no big deal" You'll be OK...but I'm not...so am I the only chicken in the world. I've read lots and feel informed, but, it still doesn't seem to take the fear of the unknown away. It feels like none of my friends can relate to me and I feel so out of the loop. Everyone is making plans for the holidays and I just feel so out of it. HELP!!! My surgery is set for the 29th of November.

HELP!!! 2 Weeks to go

You are not crazy... I know how you feel, raw nerves... you are going through a lot right now and if your friends have not gone through it they just do not know what it is like to have something so personal taken away.
You are not a chicken no matter how informed a person is it is still something new and there is going to be some apprehension.
I have a ton of apprehension when it comes to my TAH.
You are normal.

Pluss the holidays are a hard time anyway and not being able to make plans can make you feel left out... that hurts. Who knows you may feel like going someplace and just sitting (after all you are a princess)when it get closer to Christmas and New Years it may be last minute plan but do not writte yourself off completely, not just yet.

I hope this has helped, you are in my prayers.

HELP!!! 2 Weeks to go

Dear JGroen, What is the op you are expected to have?
I know I was very apprehensive and not myself at work or socially, even though I had to travel interstate beforehand for some family celebrations.
Part of it for me was not knowing how the terrible teens and all the rest of it were going to be handled by DH as he had to come back here for 10 days to look after me. He commutes interstate normally 3 days a week and lives 2000 miles away Monday to Thursday.
I worried about stupid stuff like food in the house etc etc.

HELP!!! 2 Weeks to go

If you are crazy and the biggest chicken then join the club...there are at least two of us clucking around. I am so nervous and upset that I have been making my family and all of my co-workers nuts! No matter how hard I try I can't come to grips with all of this. Medically I know it is necessary....but emotionally I am just not happy (or even comfortable) with it. You are right....friends don't understand. The friends of mine that have been through it have either been so happy to get it done because of their pain, or I think they have just forgotten the emotional roller coaster. I don't think I will ever forget the hell of the past two months! YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
