Post op 3 wks Having trouble with Vivelle patch sticking

I am 3 wks post op LAH, BSO. Have been doing well other than a UTI discovered at my 2 wk check.

My question is has any one else had problems with the Vivelle Dot sticking to their body? I even asked the Dr. and he said to clean the area with alcohol then dry it and stick the patch on but that hasn't worked either. I end up having to cover it with band aids. Maybe I have a bad batch but none have lasted more than a day and not made it through a shower yet.

Any suggestions???

where are you putting it? is your skin warm when you apply it? that can make a difference... just a thought?

hmmm...I am using the vivelle dot also. I have never had a problem with it not staying on though. I have always placed it on my behind. If anything I have a hard time getting mine off and all the left behind adhesive.
It could be a bad batch. Have you checked the expiration date on the box. I was going to suggest cleaning the area with alcohol and then blow drying it with a blow dryer.
Sorry I am not much help on this. Hopefully some others will be able to give you some help.

I have been putting it on after my shower so maybe that's the problem. I've tried my abdomen, my hip, my upper thigh so far. Tomorrow when I change it, I think I'll try my behind before I shower.

I've only had one patch not stick well so far. It was kind of weird. It was completely stuck on and then when I was in the shower I noticed it was starting to come off. I was a little worried I was then washing away all the estradiol! When I dried off after my shower it was sticking to me again!

I definitely would try not putting it on after the shower....I bet your skin is just too moist.

Thanks to all of you ladies that responded!! I am happy to say that I did as you suggested and put the patch on before my shower and on my behind and it is working great!! Before....I would have already had band aids covering it.

I put it on my lower abdominal area. Your belly has to be clean and really dry. If you have any residue or oil on the skin from your day, it won't stick...
