Surgery delay :-(

My TVH, which was scheduled for tomorrow, has now been delayed due to a chest infection. I've been waiting for a year, without a sniffle or sneeze, and have been psyching myself since I received my admission letter two weeks ago. Now I'm in limbo.

As if that weren't enough, I'm bleeding like a stuck pig with cramps that are excruciating.

I feel like my body hates me. I feel despair. I feel lost. I just want to be on the other side of this living hell.

Re: Surgery delay :-(

That sucks! Has surgery been rescheduled or will you have to wait until the infection clears up? It's so awful to be in so much pain and think the end was in sight and have that taken away. I'll be thinking of you, and praying if you don't mind.

Re: Surgery delay :-(

Thanks, zsa-zsa. I'm not religious, but any positive thoughts can only help.

I've been told that I'll be contacted by the hospital with a new date, based on an available opening and my doctor's surgery schedule. I'll give them three days before I start calling! I'm hoping it's no more than a week - I've had to give up work for this and I have limited financial resources.

In the meantime, I'm taking everything I can to knock the infection on the head and enduring my uterus' last painful hurrah.

Thanks, Nic. Stay away from everyone!! We're just coming out of winter here in Australia and I'd thought I'd done well to survive without catching anything...but no, fate had a nasty twist lined up for me :-(

I've been washing my hands and using hand sanitizer like crazy. Plus, now that school has started, I've been washing door handles and other things that the kids touch. I'm like a drill sergeant when they come in the door "Wash your hands!!! Don't touch anything before you wash your hands!". lol
