Slight Rectal Prolapse post-op?

I am 8 days post-op. I had my hysterectomy due to a uterine/bladder prolapse (can't remeber the medical terms right now). I am very happy with the repairs made to my saggy bladder, but now I seem to have a slight rectal prolapse. Is this normal? Should I be waiting until my checkup in 2 weeks to ask the doctor about it? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Slight Rectal Prolapse post-op?

It is possible that what you are experiencing is all part of the surgery and healing. Especially if you had repairs done along with the hysterectomy, you likely have some swelling going on that could resolve with time.

Don't hesitate to contact your doctor with any of your questions and concerns. It is possible your doctor will want to see you early to make sure all is well.
