3 months after and STILL losing hair HELP
It has been 3 months now and I am still losing gobs of hair every time I brush or wash my hair. I used to have a full thick head of hair but now it is very fine and you can now see my scalp under my hair. Not bald spots, just thinner now. My doctor is checking my thyroid and I see a endocronolagist on the 10th. I just wondered if this is happening to anyone else. Yes I am taking hrt. 1.25 mg of Premarin. Anyone else relate to this????

Hi Jayden,
My heart goes out to you. Yes, hair loss was one of my symptoms when my thyroid was low. Let us know what your tests turn out to be. The best to you.

3 months after and STILL losing hair HELP
Hey Jayden -
Baldy here. Oh my...it is awful. Hair everywhere but on my head. I clean all the hair off the bathroom counter, go back into bathroom a few minutes later, and there's MORE hair in the sink. I feel like Pig Pen from Charlie Brown but instead of dirt/dust swirling around me, IT'S MY HAIR!! I used to have a lot too, and now on the top of my head I can see my scalp. It's thinner all over, but seems worst there.
My hair stylist told me after any major surgery, hair will fall out beginning a month or two after the surgery. She said, "Don't worry, it's temporary and will grow back...unless you are going through menopause." Easy for her to say. She has more hair than Sasquatch. She gave me some special shampoo and scalp treatment to use, but just as much hair fell out, if not more, with that stuff, plus it made the 27 hairs I have left look greasy. Yuck.
You are not alone. I've read many posts on here about hair loss. We can only hope that it is indeed temporary. Thing is, what do we do in the mean time? Hats? Comb over around up and down?

3 months after and STILL losing hair HELP
I went for my checkup's today with the gyn and primary care doctor's.
I had my surgery on May 19th.
I have some hair loss not as much as your situation.
The primary doctor is checking thyroid, and of course the usual labs.
I am also seeing a gastroenterologists on Friday.
I think I am going to my Sun Harvest to check for any herbal remedies.
lol, my friend is always bragging on her success!
Keep your chin up!

Hair loss
I also am losing lots of hair. I just got over the hair loss from my mega spine surgery 3 1/2 years ago when I had the hyst and now it's started again. I girlfriend of mine said her dermatologist suggested using Minoxidil for men. I buy generic at Costco. I've statred it and it works. I had a complete thyroid workup the last time and it was normal.

3 months after and STILL losing hair HELP
My thyroid went low after surgery and I lost a lot of hair....then it got under control, now it is out of wack again and hair coming out by the handfuls. I get tested every seven weeks by my endochrinologist and go tommorow to get tested for hormones and thyroid.I wish you well!
