Jen

I am sorry to hear about the sepsis. You don't need the extra stress.

Re: Post ablation but problems

Hi Jen,
I agree - get that thing outta there - nothing is worth sepsis. ! I hope you have been discharged or will be soon!

This may or may not help, but in 2000, I was given the choice of hysterectomy or ablation if I wanted to preserve my uterus (huge fibroid). It was a difficult decision as I didn't want unessary surgery but the fibroid I was dealing with was a monster and in my case, the doc didn't know how long it would be before the fibrod would shrink. I had been bleeding for months and could not take another day of the pain, so I chose the hysterectomy (LAVH) so I got to keep my ovaries.

The surgery itself was a breeze for me; 2 nights in the hospital and only needed motrin after the first day. I did have some post-op pain when I developed a hematoma, but that soon passed and since then, I've never been happier. Haven't missed the periods and since I got 12 more years with my ovaries. Of course, now I'm facing a BSO but due to ovarian masses, which is a totally seperate issue. Although I am facing another surgery for that, I am still glad I was able to keep my ovaries for the last 12 years so for me, it is worth it (I say that now...may not feel so happy after the second surgery! LOL!)

Hope that helps and hope you are on the mend soon. Keep in touch and let me know how it goes!!!

Re: Post ablation but problems

I am fever free so far today so if that stays I can go home tomorrow afternoon. What this told me for sure is that I am having a hysterectomy. When the biopsy comes back we will decide if next month or January. For sure am not having another biopsy. Thank you for the support. I have already had a triple heart bypass at age 46 so if things had worked out easier then would not of considered a hysterectomy. Also had my gall bladder out this last April. Kind of feel like a frequent flyer.
