Fever and weird rash?

My daVinci was on Monday. Friday morning, my temperature spiked up to 102 and it's been hovering around 100-101 since then. Doc examined me and said that I shouldn't worry unless it keeps spiking, in which case I need to go to the emergency room.

Also, I have this weird rash now for a few days --- lower back/butt, red wall-to-wall itchy bumps. Seems to only happen when I sleep lying down. Then, when I'm up for a while (even if it is just sitting up in the same bed), it starts to dry up but comes back when I lie down. When I saw doc on Friday, I'd been up and moving around for hours, so rash was almost totally gone and doc didn't think anything of it. Woke up this morning and it was terrible, then it got better until I took a nap this afternoon.

Is this weird? Should I worry?

Re: Fever and weird rash?

I hope your fever has gotten better and was simply part of healing!

How is your rash? Could it be some type of heat rash? Maybe you are sweating when you are sleeping and it is irritating the skin? My other thought would be an allergy. Have you changed soaps, detergents, etc.? Maybe the bedding or clothing you are sleeping on is causing an allergic reaction from the cleaners or even the material itself. You may want to have someone discreetly take a picture of the rash to take to your doctor.

It is possible the rash and fever are connected so do stay in touch with your doctor about them.

I hope you are feeling better today!

Re: Fever and weird rash?

I'm so much better! Fever was due to a bladder infection, so antibiotics resolved that. The rash went away after about a week or so. I still itch all over, but no more rash.

I think the rash was just from the night sweats. I'm now sleeping on a towel and I start taking hormones tomorrow, so I should be OK.

All around, I feel about as well 2.5 weeks out as I could have possibly hoped!
