Monster Headache - Flu Like Symptoms

They had a cancellation today so I went ahead and went in (my appt was tomorrow so one day earlier didn't kill me) in fact it was awesome!!! I swear, I have the best doctor ever!!!! He's so nice and you can tell he is genuinally (sp?) concerned about how I feel.

Anyhoo.... He prescribed (my new best friend) Vicoden and also some Ambien. (the man is a saint!!!) Took a vicoden about 2 hours ago and I have NO reactions, NO headache and feel so relaxed and while it doesn't completly knock out the pain, it is managable. YAY!!!!!

GAWD I can't wait to take the Ambien tonight and (hopefully) sleep ALL NIGHT LONG!!!!!!!

*sigh* it's the little things in life

I am so glad you are feeling a little better. And hopefully you will get a good night sleep. I always get headaches from a lack of sleep so maybe your headache won't be as bad tomorrow.

Thanks

Feeling MUCH better today (as far as headache/vertigo/violent shivering) goes. No side effects from the Vicoden and was able to sleep with the ambien. It didn't knock me out like I thought it would, but did help me to relax and sleep longer than I have been. (slept for about 5 straight hours) woke up around 7:30 and took another vicoden, then took another around 9:00 a.m. and went back to bed for another 4 hours.

I'm feeling the pain today though, so not sure if that's because the vicoden isn't is strong and/or if moving around so much yesterday (trip to the doctor, etc.) stirred things up a bit. Probably a combo of both, but I'd much rather be a little uncomfortable than have to deal with the side effects of the percocets anymore. That was miserable!!!

I'm feeling human again.

The vicoden doesn't mask the pain as well but NO side effects at all. It's totally worth it. The pain isn't HORRIBLE, but I can feel it, but I'd much rather deal with managable pain than those awful side effects. BLAH!!!

Diana,
I had mine done on the 20th and had the exact same symtpoms. I actaully went to the ER twice in 12 hours because my head hurt so bad. They hydrated me with some IV fluids, gave me some compazine, and then a shot of demerol and vistaril and sent me home. I have been feeling much better since.
I hope you are feeling better by now.
