2 weeks post hysterectomy: Vaginal cuff tear

The last few days have been rough. Wednesday night I started bleeding severely and passing clots. Was rushed to the ER to find out I had a tear in the vaginal cuff. Very scary. I've never seen so much blood and the largest clots I've ever seen. After crashing in them in the ER they were finally able to stop the bleeding with a chemical cauterization and saved me from addl surgery. I'm home now and in bed rest till next week when I see the dr again.

Re: Vaginal cuff tear

I am so sorry to hear about this! I hope you heal well and have no further problems! Do you have any idea if it tore all,of the sudden or if it just didn't heal? Prayers for total healing to you.

I had pressure in the pelvic are for a few days. Actually thought it might be a UTI then all of sudden. Blood everywhere. I was lucky. I crashed on them in the ER. The dr is not sure why it happened but have to be very careful right now. Of course I'm in iron now from the low blood count.
