I have had that. Since the first week home from surgery my hands have been falling asleep when I am in bed, usually in the morning when I wake up. I am going to ask my doctor tomorrow, so if I learn anything useful, I will post is here. As my dh keeps saying, just relax and give it time! I will try anyway...

Thanks for the reply. I too will ask my Dr..It is really weird. I am going to call Dr. again Monday. Giving things time is really good advice about everything invovling this surgery! Thanks again. P

Get your doctor to check you out. It sounds a bit like Carpul Tunnel to me. I have suffered with this and had both hands successfully operated on in 2003 and 2004. Try splinting your hands when you go to bed so that you can't bend your wrists. Hope this helps.

I am 5 weeks post op and I have the same problem. I think it has something to do with the nerves regenerating, and if you are sitting for a long time, you may be having a circulation problem.

This is so wierd too...

...but two mornings after my TAH, I had incredible pain in my left bicep muscle. It felt as though someone had really punched me hard. I asked what might have caused this, and a nurse did say that when they bring you back from the OR they strap you very tightly onto the stretcher and also sometimes if your uterus is very large, they have to do some tugging and "wrestling" to get it out. I think our bodies have undergone a tremendous shock and all these aches and pains are a result of the whole surgery procedure. My bicep still hurts, but I keep telling myself that time will heal. (I certainly hope so!!) I am very grateful for all of you out there who share their experiences. What a great website!
