my heart goes out to you
Hi crystal_criner,
My heart goes out to you. I was thinking I was the youngest one at 22, but you sure put me in my place! One thing that encourages me about this site is the vast amount of stories by women who have been HELPED by hysterectomy. Do you know when your castle date is? I hope it all goes well for you. You're my newest hero.
Best wishes!

Ladies in their twenties?
Hi!
I am 27 and 11 days post-op from a LAVH/BSO. I wanted another child...so...I am still dealing with a feeling of loss. It's almost a feeling of sadness or mourning for what might have or could have been. Emotionally, it's been somewhat of a roller coaster.
On the other hand, I am already feeling better physically than I did prior to surgery. I am glad I had the surgery. My back pain is gone and the crampiness in my belly from the incision and stitches is far less intense than the constant pain I felt with endo and adeno.
The physical improvements I am already feeling are positive reinforcement that I made the right decision. I am no longer a prisoner to pain.
Good luck on your journey. The waiting and worrying is very tough!
My thoughts and prayers will be with you!

Hi Girls
I like to think that I'm still in my 20s .. but actually 32 ..... (does this classify??? my surname is 'Young' so I guess I'll always be young !!!!!)
Crystal ... 18 'WOW', you are just a child to be going through this ..
Good Luck to all you pre-ops with your ops ... it's as easy as pie .. the recovery is the hardest !

Oh dear hay 90
Think I might be a bit older than you (sob sob sob .... coming up for 33 in January sob sob sob) BUT I'm still in my 20's LOL (or so I'd like to think!!!)
Yes 1971 was a GREAT year ... the year of decimilisation for one ... I still ask my DH what a 'foot' is LOL Just keep on insisting that I'm too young to possibly remember the 'OLD' currency

Ladies in their twenties?
Hello, I'm 24 years old, and just had surgery 7 days ago. I felt awfully young to be having a hysterectomy, but I had cancer, so it needed to be done. I'm already feeling better today. I think one advantage is the younger you are, you generally tend to heal quicker.

Ladies in their twenties?
I was 28 when I had my TAH, and I too felt like I was too young for this to be happening! But, after thinking about it, I was grateful that I was able to get this taken care of, and get my life back, so early! I now love life, with no pain, no bleeding and never having to worry about birth control!
Oh, and can I be part of the 1971 club too ladies? I was born Dec 5, 1971 (32nd birthday FAST approaching...). I don't live in the UK, but I do spend a month or so there every year (my husband is English).

Ladies in their twenties?
I'm 26 and am looking at the whole kit and caboodle. Right now, the Doc has me on Lupron to try to buy some time (since my insurance company doesn't like hysts being performed on women my age without the presence of cancer.) I had a LEEF coninization 2 years ago for Pre-cancer on my cervix, and have had painful, heavy menstration for years. But, it was the pain that never goes away that drove me back to the Doc's this time.
I understand feeling like the minority, and feeling all the insecurities that goes with being so young and going through all of this. All I can say is that I've found a wonderful support group here at hystersisters! You are not alone!
