period due to fall on big day

Hi,
Could anyone tell me if my period falling on my big day will stop my hyst. I have just worked it out if it stays true to form then it will be either a day before or when I go to the castle.
Will they still do it, can anyone who had the same situation advise me. I am a little nervous about having it done but even more scared that they will cancel my date. I just want to get it over and done with.

period due to fall on big day

Hi June I bet you will hear about it but probably alot of us were bleeding when we went into the castle....I for one was and it did not cause any problem with being operated on......it sure was good to wake up with no bleeding though. But if you are really worried about it you might ask your dr...I'm sure he/she will say no problem.

period due to fall on big day

JuneT - I started my LAST period a couple of days before surgery. It was not a problem. The nurse at the hospital told me it's amazing how many women start their periods right before hyst.

I wore a pad to the hospital..and told my pre-op nurse when I got there..she took care of the rest.

The last one

June

I too started my last period the day before I went to hospital. I had already worked it out and asked dr at pre op and he said, no problems, as lots of ladies are bleeding when they go to hospital.

My last one was a doozy and reminded me just why I was having this surgery. I am now 11 weeks post and have not looked back.

Regards and best wishes.

period due to fall on big day

Hi June

I am off to the castle tomorrow and I am day 5 of my period. I asked the same question as you and the nurse told me that it makes no difference to the surgeon, she said that if anything I might feel a little embarrassed but she assured me that most women are bleeding when they come in to have their hysta.

My period usually lasts for 8 days and I am so looking forward to never having another one.

Good luck to you. Take Care
Tracey
