Only 4 days away

Tried putting this off through the summer. Dr. prescribed BC Pills to help regulate my cycles. I have fibroids and was bleeding heavy for 14 days , then 8 days off and it would start again. I've become super anemic and went to the ER last Tues.

I'm in my 40s and BC pills aren't good, but flood if I'm not on them. So, only 4 days from now is the surgery. I don't think I have enough time to plan anything! Feeling scared, stressed and trying to sleep through the night!

It's all so quick!

Re: Only 4 days away

Extra time to plan is just a lot of extra time to stress I had to wait 2 months and I hated every second of it. It gave me too much time to anticipate it, too much time to read TMI on the internet.... What you dont have time to get done, will wait , it will be ok. The surgery really isnt as hard as we make it out to be in our heads, I promise. Best wishes to ya!

Re: Only 4 days away

Hi Blue Lake Jewel,

Best wishes with your hyst. I would do my LSH over in a second...to have the good health I have experienced since my surgery. I hope you have similar results.

Re: Only 4 days away

You are gonna be fine and you will be glad you did it. try not to stress. I know it is easier said than done. Mine is in 3 days and I have been running myself ragged trying to do everything I think I need to do before. Just ready for it to be here so I can get it over with! Just think, by this time next week it will be behind us!

Re: Only 4 days away

I was diagnosed last month and almost got a chance to have my LSH within 2 weeks. Instead, it was scheduled for 6 weeks out. I have learned a lot from this site. But I have 2 more weeks to go still and I am so ready to just get it over with.

Yesterday, I replaced my heating pad, got some ice gel packs, and the abdominal binder. Tuesday, I got all the dried apricots (prunes are not my thing), nuts, and trail mix, as well as Luna bars, that will keep me going for 2 weeks. I have bread frozen and sandwich supplies. I checked out several good books, downloaded some audiobooks, and scrounged up the supplies to repair all the broken bracelets and necklaces. I can watch Netflix.

I would trade places for a few less days of this stress. Just so you know...

I hope you can take a deep breath, sit up straight and face each day, because everything is, as it should be.

Re: Only 4 days away

Don't feel bad, I had two weeks and it still wasn't enough time. I actually think the more time you have the worse that it is on you, because you have more time to do negative thinking. With less time at least you can stay busy long enough to get it over with. I was terribly nervous, so nervous that my whole family noticed. I couldn't wait to get the" I don't care medicine" in me the day of surgery!!! Once that happens you'll feel much better. My husband helped some, and so did some former hyster sister people in my family, (I just found this website hoping to get and give help), but ultimatly I just prayed and went to the hopital to have it done. Cleaning does help by the way.

Re: Only 4 days away

Thank you! Had biopsy today - was nervous about too! It was just 'ok'. Cramping some and spotting. Tomorrow is pre-op. Was yours a LSH?
Thanks for the support!
