LAVH: 5 more days...I'm getting IMPATIENT!!

This is so weird...I almost feel like I'm in the last month of pregnancy. I think I'm NESTING!! I've been going from room to room preparing for my surgery...cleaning, disenfecting, reorganizing, rearranging everything. Am I just a freak of nature or have other sisters gone through this?! I'm honestly feeling like a huge SPAZ right now!!

I think I have more energy right now than I've had in MONTHS (in spite of AF rearing her ugly head one last time and torturing me today). DH is playing all the 80's tunes for me tonight & I'm just bouncing around like a teenager. I love this!! I think a big part of it is nerves. I'm just soooo incredibly antsy feeling like the day can't come soon enough. But I've got it all worked out... Our office is supposed to be closed on Monday for Columbus Day. Ummmm...who actually celebrates on Columbus Day?? lol So I convinced my boss to let me go in & get some work done for a few hours because I want to stay as busy as possible to make the time pass faster. Then I work Tuesday & Wednesday, and surgery on Thursday. I actually wanted to work today & tomorrow but my family wanted me to spend some time at home. So what have I done here? Called a few clients, did some paperwork, and cleaned like Martha Stewart! Yup. Still working. This surge of energy has me convinced that by the Monday following my surgery I'll actually be able to get on the phone and contact some clients, even if it is from bed.

So tell me, am I crazy or is this at least fairly normal? I mean I'm not complaining about the energy but WOW!

I hope it is normal because I have been nesting too. My surgery is tommorrow and I have been cleaning like a mad woman in my house. I know I won't be able to do much after surgery and it makes my feel better knowing everything is clean. I find it is also keeping my mind off of the surgery.

have my list of cleaning. starting tomorrow and i have 2 weeks to go. there is another thread called nesting. so, it is very normal.

From everything I've read here... it's perfectly normal....

it seems that the anxiety associated with surgery becomes either a nervous energy of intense worriment or channeled into a more positive energy with those awaiting their procedures becoming energizer bunnies... doing more than they normally do with cleaning and work tasks...

COMPLETELY NORMAL!!!
You will see from other threads on this site that lots of us cleaned like crazy - You will be so happy when you get home and your house is all neat and clean. Don't forget the reed diffusers and plug ins! NOTHING better than a clean, fresh smelling house as you heal!

it must be normal - my surgery is Friday and I'm in full-on nesting mode too... cleaning, organizing, purging. Feels like nervous energy and I'm so ready to be on the other side.... Time flies when you're busy!!!

My surgery is tomorrow morning and I have been cleaning like a mad woman. I even cleaned my car. I am trying to get lots done so I can rest when I come home. I think it is keeping my mind off things also. This must be normal because I hate cleaning. lol. Its either keep busy or have a nervous breakdown for me. Good luck to you.

Whew!! Thanks for the reassurance ladies! It all continued today. I hope that means I'll be especially productive at work my last couple days there this week too!

And Pamonthego, thank you SOOOO much for the plugins/diffusers idea. DH and I were trying to think of anything else we should get & I completely forgot those. I bought room spray, but I wanna walk into a fresh smelling house that STAYS that way! Ahhhhh...it's the little things that make me happy.

Well, I officially have 3 more full days as a Princess in training. I can't wait to go to the Castle on Thursday! It feels weird to be so excited about going under the knife...or as my wonderful DH puts it, getting sliced & diced. He has an odd sense of humor sometimes. lol

I have done the same things! In fact, I realized that I had done everything too early so I am doing it all again! My TAH/BSO is 10-21....I have bought new living room furniture, just today my DH went and bought all new book cases and a new computer desk and is redoing the whole library--so in my case, its not just me who is nesting! It's GREAT!! I can't wait either...I am super excited to be pain free and old AF is making her last exit so been really pushing myself....have downloaded tons of new songs and the music has been very loud at my house for the last couple of days and will continue until I leave for the castle!

Ha! That's great!! I'm kinda jealous about the new living room furniture though. I've been wanting to get some for about a year now. lol
