still no date and a nervous wreck

well i called the dr office yesterday and was told they still havent set a date yet they said something about finding an assistant what does this mean i am confused as y he will need an assistant i have never heard of this this is making me a nervous wreck i should have been on the other side by now if my heart dr didnt get sick please help me understand

Try to relax. It is not uncommon to have an assistant. My surgeon said an abdominal hysterectomy can't be done without one which makes sense since someone has to hold things open I guess. I don't know if this is the case for other types of hysterectomies. Good luck.

TAH or TLH requires an assistant...my nerdy self watched you tube videos yesterday and there were always at least 2 docs (or 3 in some cases) there. One does the actual procedure and the other pulls stuff out of the way.

Please take a deep breath and relax...I was worried about not having a date, then they set a date and I am scrambling to get everything done in time. I pray that you get everything set up quickly and don't have to wait much longer at all!

Lol I found myself doing the you tube thing also. But what happens if you start a TVH and you end up needing a TAH? Do they stop and get someone in there to help?

i was scheduled to have my hyster this last friday june 8th but my heart dr got sick and had to reschedule my appointment with her to get my clearance for surgery so my gyn had to posepone my hyster so now i am back to the waiting game and its playing heck on my nerves i also done the youtube thing last night i was scheduled to have a LSH but may have to switch to SAH with removal of left ovary now i am waiting to see my heart dr on the 18th and waiting for my gyn to call with my second date
