Hello to my sweet Sisters,
Here are some of my feelings of gratitude for the HystersistersSisters community.
This revered site helped me through the scariest time of my life and I am thankful and grateful for it each and every time I visit.
A little back story about me.
I had a fibroid the size of a large grapefruit weighing about 1-1/2 pounds and on my initial biopsy 5 days before my surgery it showed benign dead tissue from the fibroid.
But, when I went in for my Total Abdominal Hysterectomy the surgeon performed a 5" vertical incision and the Pathologist found me to have Uterine Mullerian Adenosarcoma cancer which can hide and be very tricky to diagnose pre-op. By the grace of God it was limited to my Uterus although they also removed my Fallopian Tubes, Ovaries, Cervix and lymph nodes.
I prayed to my higher power and have been blessed with a fine outcome.
My cancer is an extremely rare, slow growing Stage 1B Uterine Mullerian Adenosarcoma which has a minuscule bit of information published or known about it other than the re-occurrence rate is less than 10% and rarely metastasizes.
The blessed news is that my brilliant surgeon got it all and I will need no chemo or treatment.
I will have check ups every 3 months and a CT scan every year and that will be my followup.
I felt terrified and completely alone until I found the Hystersisters site which has consoled me during my blackest moments and continues to be my incredible personal support system.
Now, I'm hoping that I can be of reassurance to other sisters during the stressful time surrounding their hysterectomies.
Sending love and prayers to all my sisters
