Post op panties

How many have used the post op panties. Does anyone think this a necessity ... An expensive one.

Thanks

Re: Post op panties

I did not buy anything fancy except "granny" panties that I didn't have in my wardrobe.
Everyone is different and I'm sure there are plenty of people that swear by them.
I didn't have the funds to buy anything extra and made due with what I had.

I have read where people have recommended buying a size larger to accommodate swelling but I didn't do that. The panties being firm on my belly seemed to help with the jiggle.

Good Luck and Happy Healing

Re: Post op panties

I think it depends on which type of hysterectomy procedure you have. I had a tah/bso in June. I had a vertical incision with staples. I used post op panties the first 2 weeks because they were the only type I could wear that didn't aggravate the staples. However, someone who had a davinci or laproscopy may of had a different experience.

Re: Post op panties

I had a TVH/BSO and didn't buy anything special. I wear Vic Secr. Bikini briefs and they worked just fine for me.

Post op panties

I had a DVH, didn't buy anything special. The short type disposable they give you at the hospital are quite comfortable. They gave me a few extra to bring home which was nice. After that I wore my usual bikini style without any problems.

Re: Post op panties

I had an LAVH, and my normal bikini panties worked great: they sat just below the two lower incisions, never touched them.

Re: Post op panties

I had TLH (and anterior repair), and had bought some shaper panties that are a lot like briefs, with light compression. I've worn them exactly zero times.
I found that my belly bands (from Target, in the maternity section) and my regular bikini/boyshort/hipster style panties, and it's been working fine for me.
I think if it's large incisions, those might be more comfortable, and worth purchasing.
