Change in discharge 10 days post hysterectomy?

I know we all have different types of discharge afterwards, but I am concerned because it changed today and I wasn't expecting that.
First 10 days no discharge, just very light brown (old blood, right?) when I wipe, didn't even use a pantyliner after first few days.

Now on day 10, when I wipe, its light pink. I wouldn't worry to much but that normally means new blood, right? (assuming pink is watered down red?)

I am on antibiotics, I wonder if that could have anything to do with it? Has anyone else had a change in discharge from brown to red? It's not a lot , just a few drops when I wipe, so I don't want to call my doc yet but it does concern me.

Re: Change in discharge 10 days post op?

My doctor said that some bleeding/discharge is normal up to 6-8 weeks as the vaginal cuff heals. But if you're concerned call your doctor.

Re: Change in discharge 10 days post op?

My discharge changed at about day 7 from brown to pink. My Dr. says everything is angry and this happens very frequently, quite possibly up to 12 weeks.

I am 9 days post-op and the exact same thing is happening to me... Went from dark brown to pink and a little bit more than usual...Happy I found your thread, as it makes me hope that it may be common.....

Re: Change in discharge 10 days post hysterectomy?

I'm at Day 11 and have had virtually no bleeding up until this point. Last night I started with the pinkish discharge as well. Glad to hear it sounds normal.

Hi again,
Well I woke up this morning and the light pink went to bright red... Its pretty unsettling. I will call my Doc first thing tomorrow and see whats up....

Mine went from pink to bright red but it only happened one time and it was only the size of a nickel. It went back to pink afterwards and a few days later the spotting stopped.

My doctor said as long as it isn't period heavy not to worry, unless it smells funky. I thought my days of ruining new panties was over!!!
