I have a dr appt today and I need the right ? to ask

I am having surgery on Tue and am getting nervious. My mom died from ovaian cancer when she was 45 so I am having a total hyst. I have a benign cycst on my right ovary. I am 49 and pretty much done with menapause. Help me think of ? for my doctor. I have tons but didn't write them down. I am worried about how sex will be after. My husband is wonderful and very supportive but I don't want to not be able to enjoy sex. I am not really too worried about pain but just the hospital thing...I really need to calm down.

I have a dr appt today and I need the right ? to ask

Hi

I know there are lots of places here where people post certain questions you need to ask your DR. I found this website in the resources section of hystersisters and maybe it will help you.

www.preopguide.com

I was not one to ask my DR many questions..I just said lets get this thing out and see what happens later! I know some sisters want to know certain things and that is good to ask questions. I'm not one for details on something like this. My DH says I trust in DRs too much. But what I lack in the question department my DH makes up for in the find the answer department...and he will ask the DR what I don't.

I am rambling...sorry. I wish you the best and pray your surgery will be smooth sailing and your recovery will be quick!

sewingqueen.

I love your name - I like to sew too.
I'm happy that you joined Hystersisters, it's the best place to get hyst related info, share experiences and support.

If you cllick here , it'll take you to a great list of pre op questions. I printed the list, added a few of my own and took it with me to my pre op visit. They were ALL answered and helped a lot.

I had a tah/bso 3 years ago. I was a bit worried about afterwards too, but I'm happy to say that my DH and I still enjoy our intimate time together

Although I'm allergic to pain meds with any narcotics, I was keep pretty comfortable during my recovery. One of my biggest problems was boredom from inactivity - I am usually very active.

Best wishes, please feel free to ask any questions that you may have. The ladies here are great with sharing.

I'm not even 6 weeks post op but I can tell you that everything still works... my DH and I have been enjoying getting to know each others bodies again without the actual act(so fun)....so I can't wait until we get the green light from the dr to actually "start the engines"
