Need Remedy

Ok TMI but, I am leaving in about two hours and I am Raw from the bowel prep, it hurts and burns just lying here. I have tried creams, baseline, etc nothing eases it. Any advice or just tell the nurses when I get there. I can't wipe or even touch the area.

Baby wipes or prep h wipes. Otherwise a warm damp wash cloth. Try putting a barrier on the skin such as diaper rash cream. Let the nurses know for sure! Good luck.

Prep H wipes created a terrible burn. I have been doing the baby wipes since I started but never dreamed it would be this raw. I am kinda laughing about it but crap it hurts, I can't lay on that area at all.

I'm sorry. I went through the same. It hurt sooo much and had me in tears! They'd told me no lotions at all anywhere on my body, so I didn't put anything but cool water-soaked washcloths. I did tell the nurses and they said it was ok and common. Actually, I didn't even notice it when I awakened in recovery, or after. No further problems. And, for me, that bowel prep was the worst part of the whole surgery ordeal! All the best to you for your surgery and a healthy recovery!

Yes I was actually thinking that whatever pain medicin they give me might be needed more fof this problem. I had a crying fit about it also. It's like there is no skin left down there. The actual prep wasn't near as bad as I had thought but this sucks.

Same thing happened to me diaper cremes would've worked had I thought it was going to be so bad. I felt like I was p'ing from the back. I ended up bent over in the shower and let the acids soak for like 5mins it helped alot. And like above I woke up from surgery and didnt feel anything. Its silly to think of now... good luck and happy healing
