Post op hysterectomy anaerobic infection: is it possible to get a bladder infection even while taking antibiotics?

I had my op 2/6/14 and starting 8/6/14 really bad fever, sweats, shaking, discharge etc 12/4/14 saw GP did all tests and put me on two lots of antibiotics as well. Results came back as mentioned in title. It is now 17/6/14 and symptoms are better except still have discharge and urge to pee a lot. Like something is pressing on my bladder. Can I get a bladder infection even whilst on two lots of antibiotics or could something else be going on inside due to this infection. I don't want to seem like a panicker but google doesn't help!

Re: Post op anaerobic infection

You can definitely get a secondary infection, definitely let your dr know any new symptoms. Some antibiotics don't work on some bacteria, so even if you are taking two antibiotics, you could have an infection they aren't effective against. Hope you feel better soon!

Re: Post op anaerobic infection

I will say, especially if it was really bad before you got treatment, it can take a long time for the symptoms to subside. Sometimes, I am one week on a 10 day course of antibiotics till my urinary symptoms start to subside. Don't be afraid to call your dr if you think something else is going on.

If you are taking antibiotics, please also take probiotics.
Antibiotics wipe out bad AND good bacteria leaving our bodies more vulnerable and prone to more infections.

Thanks for your reply. I will contact them today. Maybe it's just that middle of the night panic but felt something else was going on and I can't afford further complications as I have to be back at work next Monday. Plus completely not used to feeling this sedentary and useless.

Thanks for that advice also. Will get onto it. Both bladder and bowel just seem to be not very happy at the moment. Concern is that something else is going on in there I don't know about.
