Swollen pubic and inguinal nodes

Hello! I'm new here and thankful to have found this group. I'm hoping to find someone who can relate to my issue. I'm 7 weeks post op from a radical hysterectomy. 9 nodes total were removed (7 pelvic on the left and 2 pelvic on the right). Since around the second week post op I experienced severe swelling of the labia and vulva, as well as my left groin. I was recommended to a lymphedema specialist who felt this was more post op edema. Wearing cute under armour compression shorts have made the labia and vulva normal again and I do lymphatic drainage massages daily. However, last week we decided to do a CT scan to rule out hernia or hematoma. It was found that I have a 1cm lymphocele within my pelvic nodes which I was told it will work itself out. My inguinal nodes are reacting due to missing pelvic nodes therefore they are inflamed and angry. My doctor is very sure this will not turn into real lymphedema and will all go away in time. There is nothing out there that explains post op edema or even my situation. All that is out there is the bad and ugly side of real lymphedema. Anyone else with a similar issue????

Re: Swollen pubic and inguinal nodes

We have had sisters who've had a similar experience to yours, and hopefully, someone will pop by soon. I'm glad you've had things checked, and it sounds like things should eventually resolve themselves without too much of an issue (fingers crossed!), so please try not to worry too much or expect the worst. Sending hugs and all good thoughts your way.
