Why Chest X-Rays?

I've never had major surgery. Why are the chest x-rays needed before surgery? What are they looking for?

Ovaries: Removed both
Why Chest X-Rays?

I didn't have chest X-rays before my surgery. Perhaps your DR wants to make sure your lungs are clear so you don't experience anesthesia complications.
