Did the Doc examine the whole vaginal area at post -op

Curious to know if ur doc's went into the vaginal area at the first post-op appt.? I am scared of any instruments going into that sacred ground. Besides I would like my hubby to be there first with his tool-ha---if you get my drift------just like a virgin again. What say you! How do the doc's know to clear you for sex?

Did the Doc examine the whole vaginal area at post -op

I had to have an exam at about 1 week post-op for some unusual bleeding and pain I was having. It wasn't as bad as I expected, My dr. was trying to be very gentle.

I did not have an exam at my 2 week check, just and incision check and my stiches removed.

My dr. will do an exam at the 6 week check to see how the cuff is healing. That is the way he will clear me for sex and all. I am not as nervous about that since it wasn't too bad that first time.

Hope that helps, I guess it could vary with dr.'s and with what might be going on with you in particular.

At my 2 week post op visit, doctor only removed stitches. At 3 week post op (which should have been 4 wk) doctor did an internal. It was very quick and not too bad at all. Had some mild pain later that evening. At every visit, doctor said no intercourse. At my six week visit, doctor did internal like they do for pap smear. He cleared me for all activities except sex because he said vagina needed some more time to heal. I go back on the 20th and hope to get clearance then for sex.

Your doctor should tell you when you are cleared for it. If not, ask first don't just assume it's ok. Better safe than sorry!

I did not have an internal exam until my 6 week post-op. Then it was complete...

My dr had a little feel at 1 1/2 weeks when I had a problem with constipation and a bladder infection (unlucky me!) and then at five weeks she did a proper internal. I can honestly say that on both occasions it wasn't painful at all, she was very gentle. I'm glad she did because we had been waiting for the magical six weeks and was hooping for the all clear but she daid to wait another couple of weeks or so. In the end we waited until about eight weeks. I felt my tummy was too sore before then rather than internally. Neither of us felt realaxed enough knowing I might hurt.

I'm glad you asked that question. My post-op appt is this Thursday. I am curious also as to what is going to take place. All I know is that he will show me the pic' of my uterus(don't know if he is going to give it to me or not) and I should be getting the results back from pathology. Keeping my that nothing hurts.

I had my two week exam last week and he did an internal check to see how I was healing because I wanted to go back to work, he said I was healing really good and I didn't need to come back for a year and it didn't hurt at all

A dr had to have a look inside at 1 week post op due to problems which turned out to be constipation then at 8 weeks I had my full post-op check-up which included a "look inside" and internal examination. I'm very pleased to say that both times the drs were brilliant and it was totally painless

Best wishes

My doctor looked inside at 3 weeks and 6 weeks post-op. They won't clear you for sex until they have made sure everything is healed. I was nervous at the 3 week check but it was painless.
