48 sleeps to my op - don't know if I can cope!

Hello everybody

I'm so scared. I feel like my life is not within my control any longer! I don't know what to expect. I am so afraid and I have no support apart from my 18 year old daughter who has her own problems and pressures to deal with and my insecure, needy boyfriend. I think I need to find some support here in my town. I'm 42, seperated from my husband. I have a daughter and two sons. I was diagnosed with endo a year ago this month. I had a laparoscopy and my specialist said that I now have adenomyosis. I am on monthly zoladex and I take HRT daily. I feel like a huge wave is about to engulf me. Help. Can anyone give me some strength?

Take a deep breath!! This is a stressful, scary time, but you WILL be okay. You have come to the right place for strength and support!!

I'm sorry you feel that you will not have enough help after your surgery. Do you have friends, co-workers, people from your church that you could ask to help out with things for the first couple of weeks? You would be surprised who is really willing to help out when you need it.

You can always come here anytime you are feeling scared, alone, and just need someone to talk to. That's what we are here for. We have either already gone through this, or are going through it now...who better to get support from than ladies who know first hand what this journey is really like??

Lean on us, come here as often as you need. Ask questions. We will get you through this!!

Hi MadamButterfly. I know this is a tough time. It feels so overwhelming. I felt like I was being hurled at a brick wall before my surgery and I could not stop it. This is MAJOR SURGERY. It is very hard to wrap your brain around.

We will help you get through this. I agree with Traeleigh, you may ask a neighbor, friend or someone at Church to help you out. Your DD or DSs may surprise you and help you out more than you know once they see how much this takes out of you. That goes for your BF as well.

Post often as you need. It really does help conversing with women who know what you are going through.

Re: 48 sleeps to my op - don't know if I can cope!

Madam B,

I know how you feel, over whelmed with everything that's going on and have your body betray you along with the emotions ect.

Some days I can't wait for March 13th to get here and then sometime I'm wondering if I'm doing the wright thing. Then the pain and constant feeling of having "Aunt Flow" hits and I know it's the wright thing.

I wish I had a BFF to help get through all this b/c she could have some kind of understanding but my DH is my constant and is a caregiver. Who knows this just might be the thing to help your BF to gain some confidence in himself. Things like this can bring the best out of people. Let him pamper you during your recovery and while you are waiting for surgery.

Stay positive, pray, your believe system is always your a good thing…and coming her to post and vent is a good thing too.

Re: 48 sleeps to my op - don't know if I can cope!

Hey, I've never answered any of these before, here or on any other internet forum but was just having a browse and came across your entry and had to say - don't worry!!! PLEASE. You will honestly be fine. I am 9 days post-op. Also had zoladex and hrt pre-op, and also was terrified. No need. There is nothing about it that is that bad. Afterwards, there is mainly only a sense of relief, you will surprise yourself with new ways to do things round the house and your daughter will surprise you too! I remember laying in the hospital bed, with a cupa, 3 hours post surgery, totally cosy in bed and happy! A couple of tips - get some prune juice and take a glass each night, it makes life a lot easier as it can be a bit scary the first time you need the toilet!. Two, get one of those litter pickers, i borrowed one and its been a godsend for picking up light things, bendingg down is sore at first. But not for long!! I'm comfortable now! Please don't worry. xx

Oh my goodness! All of you are just the most amazingly supportive sisters any girl could hope for. I feel a lot stronger now. BF and I have had such an emotional time. At times I've felt unsure that I could go on. As sure as the sun comes up each day though, I know he loves me and I will be fine. I have all of you, I have Paul and I have my daughter Skye.xxx

Re: 48 sleeps to my op - don't know if I can cope!

I am right there with you madam B...only I have to wait until the 30th...UGH!!! Originally this nightmare was said to end in January but my dates just kept getting bumped. I wonder if there is a chat room option on here so that we could all speak together? Will have to look into that... I am on here alot...eases my nerves. I joined a week ago and the Sisters RULE!! Think of this as the final chapter of a really crappy book!! We should be full throttle but the time the sun hits high in the sky! With no tampons or pads to boot! Thinking of having a ceremonial burning of all of my feminine hygiene products, you in? Anybody??? We'll get through this tough times don't last tough people do!!

Re: 48 sleeps to my op - don't know if I can cope!

Lol! Oh littlestar! Honey I'm there with you! I wish we could have a massive bonfire night with lots of good food and drink and music and each take turns to throw something onto the bonfire that has symbolised the trauma we've been through! I would love to vent and cyber hug you guys in a chatroom! Now girls, I'm gonna throw a spanner in the works and say I have something else going on that's really bugging me and making me think about postponing my op. Anybody on here any good at dealing with badly behaved boyfriends children?

Re: 48 sleeps to my op - don't know if I can cope!

I would say while you are recovering and/or preparing for surgery that the badly behaving spawns become HIS problem. It may seem selfish to you but it is NOT!! It is called self-preservation. You need a calm mind set to heal. It is written..stress makes pain worse and healing next to impossible. Turn to better living with chemistry if you must....mild sedatives are highly under-rated!! Mother's little helper is sometimes a necessary evil! I am not planning to be anybody's hero. I didn't go through childbirth unmedicated and I certainly will not go through this with the help of modern medicine. Pain is not a way to prove how strong you are. Take care of YOU.
