serious swelly belly and gas one day post hysterectomy

I had a vaginally hysterectomy yesterday where my cervix and uterus was removed through my vagina. I didn't have any cuts or incisions. One later my stomach is huge and gassy. What can I do?

When you get put to sleep, your bowels go to sleep too. I looked like I was 9 months pregnant when the doctor came in the next day to release me, you should of seen his face. I just made sure to walk every few hours and 24 hours later it was gone.

As for swelling, your organs were cut out, no matter how it was done. There is going to be inflammation and the amount of it varies from woman to woman.

Get lots of fluids, go for frequent short walks and wait. This is a recovery that lasts weeks, not days.
