Catheter, does it hurt? Please tell me b4 I go..

My catheter was placed after I was under anesthesia in the Operating Room. It was removed the following morning. There was no pain at all in its removal. I did feel it though. That was really weird. NO PAIN!

Don't worry!

you know, I had one for my last surgery and I didn't even give it a second thought! I even kinda missed it because after that comes out, the getting out of bed to go on your own starts, lol..

I Feel much better now

Thank you so much, wise sisters, you have eased my fears. My mother said they hurt and that is what got me scared. I won't even worry about that.

Catheter

Hi! I also had a TAH and a catheter. The catheter doesn't hurt at all. The good part about it is that after your surgery, you can remain in bed and not have to keep getting up and down to use the restroom! Good luck with your surgery!

Most likely the cath will be placed after you are sleeping. It did not hurt nor was uncomfortable. Actually, I had no idea that it was even there until I sat on the hose, woohoo! When the nurse removed it, I felt nothing! don't worry, it's not a big deal, best of luck!! I had my tah/bso Dec. 15 and feel great, NO REGRETS!!
