Blood clots and surgery...

Hi Candis,

I was about 22 weeks pregnant we lost (D&E) the fetus to severe spina bifida. I started horribly bleeding 2 weeks after the loss. I had an emergency D&C the doctor who performed said he almost did a hyst then cuz couldn't stop bleeding... He packed my uterus after packing was removed I was having blood pressure problems and fevers (probably from sepsis blood infection). I got treated with heavy antibiotics after a cat scan they gave me 12 - 24 hours to improve. That evening I got a fever of 106.7 and that night I started having kidney failure so my GYN said they had to take my uterus to save my life. Later they found ecoli sepsis (most common type of blood infection) so they continued heavy IV antibiotics (which I continued for about a week at home after I was released from the hospital). They found the clots on another cat scan. I had fevers until the clots completely dissolved. Over the course of my fun I had 4 blood transfusions (8 units). I spent a total of 16 days in two different hosipitals (the first hospital relased me twice)

When I got out of the hospital I got pretty sick just feeling horrible plus all my emotions going all over the place and fear of getting sick again and going back to the hospital But it turned out to be a virus combined with allergies.

I am much better now!

So no I am not being treated/tested for cancer (for which I am very thankful).

Catherine: I just spoke with my doctor, he doesn't feel it's anything serious at this time, Thank God!!!!!!!!! I have an appointment with a Pulmonologist/Internist tomorrow, maybe he can shed some light on this situation for me and give me some peace of mind, God willinig. Thank you for your concern. Candis
