Re: TVH scheduled...what to take to hospital?

i packed a bag for the hospital and never even unzipped it.

I stayed overnite and did not shower there They gave me a toothbrush, toothpaste and baby wpies in the am. I wore home the same sweats and sweater i wore in. didn't even wear underwear because i didn't want it rubbing my incisions.

Re: TVH scheduled...what to take to hospital?

I didn't need most of what I packed. I slept all of the first day and went home the second day. I DID need my chapstick and lotion. I was very glad to have those. But I wore their gown the whole time and used their "underwear" and pads, too. I am glad I had my iPhone, too.

Re: TVH scheduled...what to take to hospital?

I stayed 3 nights... and hardly used anything! They supplied the tooth paste and tooth brush as well as shampoo. I didn't feel like using any make-up (and I am a make-up girl!) or even changing into my own nightie, so I used the hospital gown.

However, what I did use and found helpful:
fanny pack - I was able to hang this from my bed rail and used what I had inside. My cell phone, hard candy to suck on, face wipes (helped a lot) and chap stick.

I also used my own cream rinse on the day I showered, which was day 4 - the day I went home (I was just not strong enough to shower before that) and my hair brush. They stuck slipper socks on me before I went into surgery, and I never used my slippers - but I did use my short robe for walking the halls.

I wore sweat pants and loose shirt to the hospital and came home in them too.

The one thing I am glad I brought were my own mini pads. Rather then use their bulky maternity ones, I was glad to have my thin, panty ones. (but I used their mesh panties - which were great, and brought a few home too!

Re: TVH scheduled...what to take to hospital?

I have to agree that ear plugs were very important. The worst noise when I was hooked up to those leg massage things...the constant inflation and deflation noise drove me crazy until I put my ear plugs in.
